WELL!
It's been a long time coming, but Saturday is the big day.
I'm looking forward to returning to Ochillview, both to see the match and also the improvements to the ground.
Over the last couple of seasons I have developed a genuine regard for the Warriors fans. This does not mean that I will not be any less wanting (or for that matter, expecting) a Morton win. I only hope that the game is played in a sporting manner and that we can all walk away at 5.45, Sat and say " I enjoyed that!".
REALLY, REALLY looking forward to Saturday!
Prediction? Morton win 2 or 3 nil.

M8, where have you been? Kidnapped in the highlands was it? Sent one or two reports on Preston games through, W Ham was a cracker, marred by ref a little, but then what game isn't. Gouldie ex Scotland and Celtic (I think is doing well for us). The new lad up front appears to be doing well for you. Good luck saturday but not too good . Beware W32.blaster.worm is doing the rounds, I,ve got rid on my PC, but for anyone running XP who gets odd things happening, it could be this. MS have a patch. Yes, yes M8 we could be using ZX Spectrum's and BBC's but I still have a fondness for them - pacman and all that. T.

And here me thinking you were an educated man, Tony!
Sorry, I don't check that e-mail account more than once a week. I have now and will fire off a reply later today!

Good to see you guys on here again. M8_West, why are you planning to stay in the ground for an extra hour after the match? I assure you the ground improvements are not that startling! Enjoy Saturday.

Hi Walter.
OOPS! My mistake! Although, if everyone has to leave by the same gate as per the last time, it might take half that time to get the Ton support out.
As a matter of interest, just where will the Morton support be allocated and are there new turnstyles?
See you Saturday!

They've put out half a dozen chairs on the practice pitch - will that cover it . Admit it M8, the reason you're staying on for an hour after the match is that you get a lift back in the coach. I've seen the evidence ;D! P.S. Walter, any chance of the England flag or the red rose of Lancashire as an emblem? Yes I know I should be washing my mouth out with carbolic but ... Hope it's a great match. T.

You don't know how close to the truth about the team coach you are, Tony. I believe that the team bus is taking the team through this morning and returning to get our travel club. I don't know how true this is but it WOULD explain why we are leaving a tad later than we would normally.
As for the ground "improvements", Ochilview is far from the worst ground I have visited. However, anything which increases the capacity of the ground and makes use of as many sides of the pitch can only be good for the comfort of fans and increase the atmosphere at a game. I only hope that 'Stenny make something out of their stint as landlords, I know all we got out of having Clydebank as our "guests" was a gubbed pitch.
I'm sure it will be a good game, I'm also sure that the 'Stenny fans will be impressed by the 'Ton, if we play to our potential.

I have to say that I was disapionted with Morton today, but even more so with 'Stenny. I expected so much more from BOTH teams.
Morton did not play at all well. Stenhousemuir didn't play, full stop!
I posted earlier that I thought we would win 2 or 3 nil and we did. The way we played, we shouldn't have but the way 'Stenny played we should have won by MORE!
The guy who was sent off was a disgrace (McGowan I believe). Even from the other end of the ground I could see that there was no contact in the challenge, how he thought he could con the ref, who was much closer, I'll never know!
Who was the number 4? Another numpty, he stood on Williams hand and Alex was booked for his reaction (rightly so) just before he was subbed.
On the whole, as a Morton fan, I'm happy with the result but I think that MY team can do better and I think YOUR team needs to have a look at what way they want to play the game.

*Preston lost first, knocked out of cup by v poor side and draw 2nd, *Stenny loose to Morton, *pool loose. If football is such a funny game, by now I should be splitting my sides laughing? Alas I'm into my Black Bottle: ahh that's better . Conning the ref is part of the game M8, and the little niggles that they can get away with - it has spoilt the game, and is, as you suggest dissapointing, particularly when there are some talented players about. But, all teams do it M8, except for England, Preston, Liverpool and Stenny , if you take my point: and I believe it was a canny Scot who once said What a gift for God to give us to see our teams as others see us""? And no matter how dissapointing or frustrated, we're there the next Saturday morning, putting on a scarf and making our way to the game with another heartfull of unjustified (sometimes) optimism. oops, I don't normally get this phillosofical filosofical deep after drink. You are 100% correct, Tony (as usual). Conning the Ref, or should we call it gamesmanship, is part and parcel of the game nowardays, but the guy on Saturday just made an arse of himself.
If he wants to play this way, the least you can expect is that he puts a bit of effort into it.
