The official site used to offer such details, but a lot of folk from south of the border come up and stay at the Station Hotel, 1 mile from the ground. Look at the official site 'Warriors Abroad' section, see what it says. This site is quiet now due to the official site having a message board.

Hi Ian, I'm in the same boat, but a bit further up river. Preston fan who goes to watch Warriors when I'm up there. Many good hostels/hotels/b+b's, very friendly people.
Station Hotel is fine, the Plough is not far away and the Bowtrees (near Skinflats on the way to Kinkardine bridge at the end of the M876) is farther away but quieter, cracking meals and super Stella on draught.
If you go up in October - March you probably won't need to book before going.
Dead friendly supporters (and witty), Scotch pies are excellent (you'll end up bringing some down with you) and Bovril great! Once youv'e been you will definitely go back.
PS This is a friendly site, if a little quiet in the off season - please come back and tell us how you got on. Tony.

Hey Ian, I was THERE mate when Ronnie got you up to Division 2 a few years ago. I was lucky to buy a ticket on the morning of match day and I also joined in the pitch invasion at the final whistle, tossing Ronnie in the air. The town centre was buzzin afterwards but things got bad for me as I returned to Sheffield trian station. Burnley and Blades fans were scrappin big time and the cops surrounded the station in big numbers. As I tried to leave the station they assumed I was some Burnley hooligan and they tried to force me on a train to Burnley (60 miles away) but when I explained myself for the 100th time in my Steny accent the eventually let me go. Arseholes! I've frequented lots of English grounds and your team is quite popular amongst my peers. Good luck for the season but you'll have similar problems to us mate, avoiding the drop zone! Who cares anyway it's a sense of belonging supporting your local side. Come up sometime for a blether. dac.

;DDarren What a kind offer, one I would gladly take you up on when I come up.Dont know when that will be, as it would have to fit in with the millers fixtures. The match you speak of,must have been Hartlepool away in April 2001.I might well have walked past you as my comrades & I were in "The Corner Flag",at the side of the away end from around 11-30 that morning. My e-mail address is bradleyinb@aol.com,if you fancy some off messageboard chatting about life, the universe,&everything football. Best regards Ian

Ian, The game in question was a home match against Barnsley I think and The Millers won 2-1 after going a goal down. This was the match that guaranteed promotion. I'll check my programme but the aftermatch celebrations must have been the biggest in the clubs history. I'm betweens homes at present. This is my brothers PC I'm using but I'll send you my e mail address in 3/4 weeks. You've also made up my mind to attend another Rotherham match next season. The location is brilliant as it's so central to lots of other grounds. Allthe best for the season, I'll be cheering the boys on. dac.

Of course it was, I'll bring my programme to confirm my attendance regards that game which was pretty exciting. I'll be interested in a local derby IF tickets are available against e.g. the blades, but any visiting team would do really. dac.

Ian, I forgot to mention my demand for a similar start to last season's campaign please. An away 6-0 thrashing to however you are playing, just like the mauling them 'lions' bams received last August. By the way, did you know Millwall are actually a Scottish club playing in England? Yup, founded be West Coast miners of yesteryear. I'll still cheer on Rotherham to beat them any day of the week though! dac.

Darren; Unfortunately, both games against the blades are both Tuesday nights, which could make it a bit difficult for you to get to.I wonder if you could make it down on Sat 23rd August this year when the millers are at home to West Ham.That would be a good one to attend. If you could make it to that one, we could discuss my return trip to watch a Stenny game Ian

Although I'm NOT a busy man that's one weekend I can't make it. I'll think of some dates and give you a buzz. It doesn't have to be one of the larger teams. dac.
