Well, there were some good points and bad points from todays game but it was nice to see us show a little bit of a fight. When Alloa got the goal I have expected us to cave in again.
Couple of Bad points,(1) how can you lose a goal direct from a corner when your goalie is over 6ft and you have men on the line? Their corners caused us mayhem in the first half when they had the wind in their favour, it's not like we didn't know how a Terry Christie team would take corners, is it? (2)-how many chances did we give Alloa? according the the figures I saw 18 of which 10 were on target, numerous goal line scrambles and clearances off the line, how they only scored one is a mystery. Couple of Good points (1) some fighting spirit again (2) Michael Stone, just how long do you think we can keep him, he's destined for greater things I think.
by the way but am I the only one confused with what the referee was doing today regarding the Alloa penalty claim? from where I was it looked a penalty but he waved play on so first of all why didn't he book Yano for diving? Then, he waves the trainer on to treat the "injured" Yano so if he thought he was injured why didn't he give the penalty? Brian P.S. Cant beat sitting in a north facing stand when it's freezing cold :-(

I agree with everything you say!
Someone should take the oven gloves off Ryan McGurk and hand him some goalkeeping gloves because everything is just too hot for him to handle! Although I wasnt at Stranraer I believe that Marc Graham had a stinking game but he is still a better goalkeeper than RMcG (Robbie Winters is a better goalkeeper than McGurk)- before Stranraer I honestly thought MG was our best player, behind Stone of course. How many goals is RMcG going to have to give away before someone realises that he is just not up to it. And if Graham really is not a better goalkeeper then we need to get rid of both of them.
If you look at the game yesterday, we probably created more chances from open play than Alloa although Alloa had the better chances (ie every time the ball went anywhere near our keeper).
And finally, I hope Willie Irvine is going to get the No7 shirt (I presume that he has signed at least on loan now) as Chris Jackson is terrible. How many break aways did we have that as soon as the ball went to CJ, well we lost it?
Positives - David Graham looks like a very good footballer and David Milne who I had doubts about played very well. Des McKeown had a good 2nd half but was a bit lost in the 1st half - he spent the 1st half trailing in Ross's shadow.
Oh yes, was Simon Vella dropped from the squad altogether or was he injured.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Ryan. I agree Marc should be No. 1 (apparently he had flu yesterday) but Ryan is should be given a chance. He has had some good games while deputising.
I also thought Connacher had a good game. Has he signed or is he on loan ? JB must have been doing a bit of undercover work at the Partick Thistle cup winning anniversary the other night.
I mentioned on a previous posting that when Vella was subbed at Stranraer he stormed straight down the tunnel. Bone has also stated that he thinks that using Vella holds back Stone, so I think his days are numbered unfortunately.
Allowing for the weakened squad I think it was a great performance yesterday.

I heard his flu was caused with the draught of the ball passing him all the time :-)

I think you are all being hard on Ryan. He is young and the wind had a big part to play in Seaton's corner finding the back of the net. Given time both keepers will do a job, but Graham had a nightmare at Stair Park and he was not alone. Connaghan is on loan and he did a competent job. Alloa surprisingly faded in the second half. Hutchison was very quiet and Little did not look sharp. Stenhousemuir still have a long way to go and Berwick will be a stiff test.

True, he is young but he doesn't inspire me with confidence. we struggled with corners in both halves of the match even when the wind was behind him. Maybe he does have the makings of a good keeper, I have seen him make a few good reflex stops but he does worry me, he's not very commanding in his area and fumbles too much. One thing I noticed, I'm glad you pointed it out was how quiet Hutchison was, infact apart from one Max christie shot in the first half i thought all the ex-warriors were very quiet, I'm glad to say

OK - probably being a bit too harsh on McGurk, but I still think that he is not good enough to be our 1st choice goalkeeper as he gives away too many goals and cannot catch the ball (hence all the goalmouth scrambles)
And we should keep quiet about Stone - the fewer people that know about him the better!!
