Hi there, I'm tired of hearing how the Scottish game is crap, there is no young talent coming through etc. So, here's the plan...change our 4 league system into a 2 league system thus allowing the bigger teams the chance to "blood" the younger players against the weaker teams in their league without the fear factor. The fear of not wanting to play these players because they are in a relegation scrap or in with a chance of Europe. Just look at the old firm, when they get injuries and bring in the young ones ( no, not Rick, Mike, Vyvian and neil) the young ones do well only to get replaced when the player recovers from injury. The present 1st division boys would enjoy playing the bigger teams more often, 2nd division teams would welcome the chance to get promoted straight into the top division and the 3rd division teams would also benifit by playing the 2nd division teams and possibly promotion too. personaly I'd like to see the bottom club in scotland replaced by a non league team too but that's another topic. so, would the plan work or is it a non starter because the premier teams would lose money? hmmm, what do you thenk? All for such a change! I think almost every club fan would welcome this, as it would mean more variety for away trips, less familiarity breeding contempt. For the reasons you have stated I would also welcome this. Let's face it, the present system was only set up to please the Old Firm, as was the 'keep your own gates' rule. So perhaps if they did go (but who would want them?) such a helpful change could take place. I know of fans of SPL clubs other than the OF who don't like the split in April, and some who don't go to home matches between their clubs and the Old Firm. Such a change would be like a breath of fresh air.
